I know, I know, most of us dislike winter, it’s cold, dreary, and dirty. That being said after the holidays there are hardly any houses on the market, yet there are always people either looking to buy or having to buy for whatever reason. The spring market always starts off very slow. However for the last couple of years the sale prices are very competitive. I have always encouraged people that are thinking of selling in March or April to put their house up a couple months early. You can always negotiate a longer closing.
Of course there are a couple drawbacks. What does the property look like without snow? Is there any unseen junk you would have to deal with? If your rural then it can be harder dealing with septic inspections.
Every season has it’s pros and cons just something to consider when thinking about what time is the right time for you to list your home.
